Taylor Trainor
Counseling Intern

I am a graduate student in the Master's of Clinical Mental Health Counseling program at the University of Nebraska at Omaha. I hold a Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Human Development, and Health Science.

I am deeply passionate about helping clients navigate trauma recovery, anxiety, depression, family systems, self-esteem, empowerment, and women's mental health issues. My therapeutic approach is rooted in modalities such as person-centered therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, and narrative therapy.

I bring a creative flair to counseling, often incorporating art, music, poetry, and other forms of creative expression into sessions. I believe in the power of non-verbal communication to enhance the therapeutic process, offering clients an authentic space for self-exploration and healing.

For me, therapy is a collaborative journey where clients can feel empowered to rewrite their narratives, explore new perspectives, and uncover their inner strengths. With a warm, supportive approach, I strive to meet each client where they are and celebrate their unique journey toward growth and well-being.

What inspired you to become a therapist?

I was inspired to become a therapist by a deep desire to combat the stigma surrounding mental health, which I saw affecting so many lives, including my own. I understood the courage it takes to seek help and the profound impact that support can have on healing. It’s an honor to walk alongside clients on their unique journeys towards growth, healing, and self-love.
